Lois is huge compared to a Wrangler
What I mean by a guilty buy is that you know you don’t need it or can justify it. Every time I look at Lois the Dodge, I have that twang of guilt. Why do I feel guilty? I’m a single male that drives an average of 600 miles a week, doesn’t carry passengers (maybe one to two passengers once in a blue moon).
Lois and my friend’s G8 GT. His is much much much faster (dynoed at 376 RWHP)
So I cannot justify why I bought Lois. I don’t even need all this vehicular acreage or its abilities. I know that an ordinary car will do the job just fine.
I love Lois though...
The Durangos has one of the best looking designs of all SUVs.
Have you?

We don’t live in the Soviet Union, you don’t have to justify your car purchases or driving patterns
.
Rock on!

I’m looking to buy a Durango SRT and I work from home,
don’t have a commute
and drive very little, so I don’t think I can be much help in your situation. I could putt around in a 15 year old Civic and that would do the job, but Durango SRT. Test drove one last week - maybe I’ll do a write-up of the experience.
Also, the wife’s Pacifica is really great as a family vehicle. It just eats up the miles and is so comfortable.

When I was 2 2 , right after college, I was driving an ‘ 84 Mercury Topaz. Reliable, but boring AF. I was working for GM, so I ordered a brand new Sunbird Turbo convertible. Had to wait 3 months for it.
Was that enough?? No, of course not. While I waited for the Pontiac, first I put a deposit on a ‘ 72 Impala convertible ( triple black big block), then bailed on that and bought a ‘ 64 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 2 door hardtop. Total impulse purchase for $ 1600. Was a great car, but I sure as hell didn’t need it. Kept it for about 3 years and had fun with it though.

It may sound ridiculous but I feel occasional for spending a whopping 7 grand, but remember that the most expensive vehicle I ever bought for myself before this was 1800 bucks ... at age 28.

My Juke easily. My Sonic was perfectly good, very reliable. Did I need a larger car, no. The Juke was, “I don’t know if I’ll ever see another manual cuv for sale again .” so I bought it. Lost a bit on trade, got a less reliable car. It stands out way more. Do I regret it? Some days. The reason I told people was it had AC, more power, & another gear. In reality I did not mind the base model no options, I just saw it & said I needed it.

You absolutely should feel guilty. That’s no SRT.

Don’t feel so bad. You’re keeping people employed, it could be a lot worse, and it makes you happy.
Plus, you were self-sacrificial enough to buy a car that
•SPOILER ALERT• has an off-center/non-aligned center console and radio stack, so someone had to take the hit.
